Employment

Chalet 1802 is a private chalet company, based exclusively in Chamonix, France. We operate 4 chalets, all varying in character and style, and three owned by Chalet 1802. The chalets are extremely comfortable and can accommodate from 10 to 15 guests.

At Chalet 1802 our concept is simple: great accommodation, food and service. Being a small company means that we really care if our guests enjoy their holidays with us, and having a manageable number of chalets, staff and guests is key to running a successful chalet company.

If there is one thing that sets us apart from other chalet operators it has to be our staff. We hand pick our team and choose our staff based on their professional, friendly and enthusiastic natures. We place great emphasis on the quality of all our staff and the high level of personal service that our guests can expect. Each chalet is run by two or three staff, chosen for their natural ability to make guests feel welcome and relaxed from the moment they arrive. The chalet staff are supported by our chalet manager who is on hand to assist in the smooth running of our chalets and keep a close eye so that high standards are maintained.

Our cooks are chosen for their excellent culinary skills and their enthusiasm to serve delicious meals. The food and wine served in our chalets is as good as you could expect in any good restaurant. Each cook is supported by a chalet host, who will ensure our guests feel relaxed throughout their stay. They also take care of housekeeping duties, serving at meals, hosting duties and driving the guests to and from the slopes.

All of our staff come to Chamonix because they want to ski almost everyday for 5 months on some of the best and most famous terrain in the world, but you don't have to be a great skier, or even to have skied before, you just have to be fairly sporty and enjoy the outdoors.

If you feel that you have the right skills, a great personality, are well presented and eager to experience working for a small but professional company please send us your cv with photo and covering letter to Charlotte Richardson. Please detail the job you would like to apply for, previous work experience and relevant qualifications. Any successful applicants will be invited to attend an interview to be held in London on an agreed date during the summer.

As a company which prides itself in serving our guests with high quality food we are looking for enthusiastic and talented chefs to join our team, who are flexible and reliable in their approach to work. To get the most out of working a ski season you'll need to be energetic, friendly and love working with people.

As a guide your role will include:

  • Menu planning, shopping, and stock control
  • Ensuring the kitchen is kept clean at all times, paying special attention to kitchen hygiene
